Overview

Aasaman Nepal (ASN) ‘A pioneer organization for education and nutrition’, is one of the leading Terai based NGOs led and managed by social activists since its establishment in Dhanusha, Janakpur in 1999. ASN has been engaged in developing and implementing programs aimed at protection, promotion and fulfillment of child rights in Nepal. Currently ASN has been working in 16 districts under 6 Thematic Areas as: Education/Child Protection, Women Empowerment, Livelihood/ Natural Resource Management, Disaster Risk Reduction, Health/ Nutrition and Good Governance.

ASN is going to implement the project, “The project for Mother and Child Health and Nutrition (MCHN)” in Saptari and Siraha district of province 2, Nepal in partnership with WFP. The objective of the project is to improve the health and nutrition status among children under five years of age and PLW through prevention, early detection and treatment of malnutrition, and common illnesses, during the critical first 1,000 days of life. The Aasaman Nepal is looking for the self-motivated, result oriented and hard-working Nepali citizen for the following positions:

1Program CoordinatorThe PC will be responsible for overall management and quality assurance of the program. He will be the focal person to communicate with the WFP and the Government for technical issues of the program. The PC will also:Provide technical assistance to the MCHN program team for the overall program planning, and implementation.Represent the MCHN program in all relevant health & nutrition platforms, mechanisms, and discussion including nutrition cluster for overall visibility of the programEnsure the dissemination of lessons learned and outcomes of the program implementation in the districts.MPH or equivalent with 3 years’ management experience in the  Nutrition, System strengthening and  MNCH field,Proven ability to manage risks and promote governance to contribute on strategic outcomes,Experience working with children and their wellbeing in both development or emergency contexts,Have a good technical knowledge and experience on Nutrition Specific and Nutrition Sensitive along with data and information management,Proven project management and financial management experience,Diverse team management to yield quality results within the stipulated time period,Presentation skill to highlight on the areas of success and failures with qualitative and quantitative data and relevant information,Two-wheeler driving license preferred.1
2Monitoring and Reporting OfficerThe Monitoring & Reporting Officer will be responsible for overall recording, report compilation, analysis, and sharing program details to concerned municipalities, district health service offices, and other concerned stakeholders as appropriate.The Monitoring & Reporting Officer will also hold the responsibility to document the community level SBCC intervention and the possible knowledge, Attitude and the Practice (KAP) indicators through the regular monitoring mechanism.The Officer will document beneficiary level monitoring and the case stories; prepare monthly and quarterly technical and financial progress report, and annual project completion report that includes Gender, Inclusion, Protection, and accountability updates/as per the requirement of the WFP or as the format provided by the WFP; facilitate to develop reporting & documentation plan jointly in coordination with the WFP & the HSD.BPH or equivalent with 2 years’ experience in relevant field,Demonstrated experience in the use of MS office Package (Word/Excel/PowerPoint etc.) & Internet.Achieving quality results and serviceCommunicating information effectivelyBuilding collaborative relationshipsPracticing gender and cultural diversityPracticing accountability and integrity1
     
3District CoordinatorDistrict coordinator has to manage and maintain effective coordination and collaboration with local government authorities/Palikas for smooth implementation of the project;Coordinates with government health facilities and providers for linkages across the continuum of care;Supervise and provide onsite coaching and training to MCHN officers;Ensure quality of data reported from field and proper handling of electronic devices;Ensures implementation of action plan prepared after health facility and data quality assessment.BPH or equivalent degree in health/nursing and 2 years’ experience in community mobilization and government coordination specially in Nutrition, system strengthening and MNCHGood understanding of Government health system, HMIS recording and reporting tools,Ability to provide technical support to health facilitiesStrong understanding of the area of the development work and of the health programming,Experienced working in Government settingsExperience of promoting youth networks and social campaigns,Volunteer management,Excellent interpersonal and communication skills,Demonstrated experience in the use of MS office Package (Word/Excel/PowerPoint etc.) & Internet,Two-wheeler driving license preferred.2
4Health and Nutrition OfficerThe Health & Nutrition Officer will be primarily responsible to provide technical assistance to prioritized municipalities during program planning, and implementation through health facilities and through the different health mother groups and the community engagement, as well as their follow ups. She will also hold the responsibility to support in mentoring the health facility staff including the HMIS recording and reporting. So, the Health & Nutrition Officer will be responsible for the overall coordination with local stakeholder, DHO, report preparation, data collection, facilitation quality assurance, carrying out administrative duties.BPH or equivalent degree in health/nursing and 2 years’ experience in community mobilization and government coordination specially in Nutrition, System strengthening and MNCHGood understanding of Government health system, HMIS recording and reporting tools,Ability to provide technical support to health facilitiesStrong understanding of the area of the development work and of the health programmingProven experiences of working with health mother groups, vulnerable groups, marginalized community and other stakeholders,Excellent interpersonal and communication skills,Demonstrated experience in the use of MS office Package (Word/Excel/PowerPoint etc.) & Internet,Two-wheeler driving license preferred.2
5SupervisorThe community facilitators will hold the overall responsibility to plan and implement the MCHN intervention at community level.She will hold the responsibility to directly communicate/interact with the beneficiary groups, caretakers of maternal, infant & young children ; train them/aware them on issues related to maternal child health and nutrition; influence the families through initiating Behavior Change Communication; help prevent children from acute malnutrition, and under nutrition, nutrient deficiencies sanitation & hygiene; and encourage the beneficiaries to use the locally available nutritious diet; breastfeeding; aware them on food diversity; sanitation & hygiene; enhancement of optimal nutrition behaviorMinimum ANM with three years of experience OR Staff Nurse/ HA with one year of experience in demand generation or field outreach program specially in nutrition, maternal, neonatal and child health. Demonstrated experience in the use of MS office Package (Word/Excel/PowerPoint etc.) & InternetVolunteer managementExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsTwo-wheeler driving license preferred26

Languages:   Strong command of Nepali, English (oral and written) and local language preferred/required.

Age Limit: Candidates between 21 years to 45 years are only eligible to apply for the above position, depending upon the nature of job they will carry.

Monitor staff and partners’ and ensure adherence to Aasaman Nepal’s policies and internal procedures, protocols, Aasaman Nepal’s code of Conduct with special attention to Safeguarding Standards and Procedure, Case Handling Framework, Child Protection and Do No Harm Policies. Also, immediate reporting and redress of any complaints and issues based on its severity.
