Nepal Celebrates September 18 as the National Family Planning Day, September 18 was the Foundation Day of Family Planning Association Nepal.
The Slogan of the Third National Family Planning Day is;
“व्यवस्थित परिवार : स्वास्थ्य र विकासको आधार”
Family planning service in Nepal was initiated in 1950s. Family planning is one of priority program of Government of Nepal, Ministry of Health and Population. The main aim of the National Family Planning Program is to ensure that individuals and couples are able to fulfill their reproductive needs by using appropriate family planning methods based on informed choice. Family planning can reduce unmet need for contraceptives and unintended pregnancy which ultimately helps to improve maternal and child health, empowers women by allowing them to invest more in their children and earn wages outside the home…….
