Overview
The Ministry of Health and Population, Health Emergency and Disaster Management Unit/ Health Emergency Operation Center (HEOC), has officially released the Public Health Emergency Management Directive, 2082.
What is Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC)?
Key provisions
The directive outlines the roles and responsibilities of key structures at all levels of government, including the Federal Incident Command System (ICS) and HEOC, Provincial ICS and Provincial HEOCs, and Local ICS to be established in each local government.
To provide strategic oversight and high-level guidance, the directive also establishes a Public Health Emergency Management Advisory Committee, chaired by the Minister of Health and Population. This committee will play a critical role in ensuring inter-sectoral coordination and policy direction during health emergencies.
