Local Initiatives for Biodiversity, Research, and Development (LI-BIRD) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization established in October 1995 with its Head Office in Pokhara and Programme Coordination Office in Lalitpur. LI-BIRD is implementing a project entitled “Empowered communities and CSOs for inclusive nutrition governance in the hilly and mountain regions of Western Nepal” funded by EU from January 2025 to June 2028. The project aims to strengthen sustainable and inclusive nutrition governance through an effective implementation of the Multi-Sector Nutrition Plan III. Specifically, the project will support local governments for strengthening local food systems and equitable access to high-quality nutrition services in 10 municipalities of Achham and Bajura districts of Sudurpaschim Province.

LI-BIRD invites applications from eligible and qualified Nepali citizens who are committed and have the ability to deliver results with the highest integrity for the following positions:

Position: Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Officer (Level 7) – 1, (to be based at LI-BIRD Site Office, Bajura)

Job Summary: Reporting to the District Coordinator, MEAL Officer will be responsible for the development and implementation of the project’s MEAL framework and plan to achieve project outputs and outcomes, as well as cross-fertilizing learning generated by the project with key stakeholders. MEAL Officer’s specific duties include: development of project’s overall M&E framework and plan, conduct baseline, data collection as per project indicators, development and management of project M&E database, M&E capacity building of project staff, and supporting the project team in the preparation of knowledge products, including donor reports.

Education and Experience: Master’s Degree in Agriculture Economics, Agri-business, Nutrition or other relevant subjects with 2 years of work experience in monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of nutrition and food security related projects.
