Job Description

Working for Access and Creation Nepal (WAC-Nepal) is nonprofit, non-governmental and nonpolitical humanitarian development organization that is going to start “Strengthened Health & WASH facilities and its Accessibility (SEWA) Project in Achham District partnership with World Vision International Nepal. For the smooth implementation of the project, WAC-Nepal is seeking qualified, dynamic and motivated Nepali citizens for the following position.

Position: Project Officer (1 Person Based in Sanfebagar, Achham)

Minimum Qualification and Experience: 

  • Bachelor Degree in Public Health with minimum 3 years working experience in managing heath and WASH related projects with diverse team under development projects.
  • Proven ability to manage risks and promote governance to contribute on strategic outcomes
  • Experience working with children and their wellbeing in both development or emergency contexts.

Major Responsibility: 

  • The Project Officer will be responsible to lead on program planning, implementation, reporting, M&E, coordination and collaboration with relevant government stakeholders and WVI Nepal.
  • Work as field contact person and also coordinate for overall project grant management.
  • Lead coordination and linkages with the government, I/NGOs, private sector actors and other civil society organizations at the district and municipal level.
  • Facilitate and ensure the selected health facilities for repair/construction of waste disposal pit/incinerator in health facility/birthing center and repair/maintenance of ANC/delivery room in birthing center.
  • Identify and ensure the actual need to essential set up (furniture’s, curtain, room partition) for health facilities/ birthing centers.
  • Support to selected Health facilities for Repair / Maintenance of WASH services (gender friendly toilets, water supply, water storage tank, handwashing stations etc.) in HF/BC.
  • Provide Infection Prevention training for health workers.
  • Conduct Demonstration on hand washing practices among pregnant and lactating mothers in health facilities
  • Collaboration/advocacy with ward and palika offices on the availability of basic services in HF/BC for quality health service.
  • Lobby/advocacy with ward and palika offices to allocate adequate resources for quality health services in HF/BC.
  • Support health mothers’ group meetings in the community through community health workers
  • Provide onsite coaching for changing health workers’ behavior on proper counselling for pregnant women on ANC/Institutional delivery and consumption of IFA tablets
  • Follow up and perform all of the project related tasks.
