Project Coordinator: Climate Change and Health System for Dang and Jumla
JOB PURPOSE
The Project Coordinator will be based at municipal level and work closely with central research team and local stakeholders to identify systemic and contextual challenges relating to climate change and health, co-create intervention packages at system and community level, and support implementation and evaluation. The role emphasizes participatory planning, capacity enhancement, and routine documentation to strengthen climate resilience in health systems.
JOB PROFILE
We are seeking a qualified and talented Project Coordinator to join our office team at HERD International. TSuccess in this role requires strategic thinking, integrity, a results-driven approach, and effective teamwork. The candidate should possess strong technical knowledge, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and strong analytical skills. Adaptability, proactive engagement, innovation, sensitivity to gender and cultural considerations, and the ability to work under pressure while embracing change and complexity are also essential.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS
These foundational qualifications and experiences ensure that the Project Coordinator can effectively contribute to HERD International’s vision and goals.
- A Master’s degree in Public Health, Environmental Science, Climate Change or related discipline.
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in health systems and climate resilience projects.
- Understanding of local health system structures, and health systems and climate change linkages.
- Experience in implementation research or participatory action research will be considered an advantage.
- Proven ability in coordinating multi-stakeholder projects, with ability to work with diverse communities and maintain cultural sensitivity.
- Strong facilitation and communication skills, and experience in participatory planning processes.
- Excellent documentation and reporting skills in both English and Nepali.
- Ability to work independently and travel frequently within the assigned province.
- Sensitivity to Gender and Cultural Considerations: Commitment to gender equality, diversity, and inclusion in policy and research practices.
