Job Description

Position Title: Internship (Public Health & Development Program)
Duty Station: Kathmandu, Nepal
Duration: 6 months (with the possibility of extension)

Health Nutrition Education and Agriculture Research Development Nepal (HEARD Nepal) is a national non-governmental, non-profit, and non-political organization registered under the Organization Registration Act, 2034 B.S. It is affiliated with the Social Welfare Council (Affiliation No: 52601) and holds PAN/VAT No: 615996712.

With provincial offices in Kathmandu (Bagmati Province) and Biratnagar-03, Morang (Koshi Province), HEARD Nepal works in close coordination with all levels of government. The organization is committed to reducing poverty and improving the lives of marginalized communities through programs in Health and Nutrition, WASH, inclusive quality education, food security, livelihoods, economic development, and child protection. HEARD also works in areas such as GEDSI, environmental and occupational health, humanitarian response, SBCC, DRR/CCA, research and innovation, youth engagement, and policy advocacy.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with government and non-government stakeholders (e.g., SWC, DCC, Health Offices, Rural Municipalities, health institutions).
  • Support research and evaluation design, including contribution to program impact frameworks and theories of change.
  • Assist in developing advocacy and scaling evaluation frameworks.
  • Communicate effectively in English and Nepali, both written and verbal.
  • Prepare reports, enter data, and manage documents.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Google Docs; knowledge of SPSS is an advantage.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Running or completed Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Nursing, Social Sciences (e.g., BSW), or Management from a recognized institution.
