Job Title: Research Assistant – Public Health

Location: Bharatpur, Chitwan, Nepal

Position Type: Part-Time (Remote or Hybrid)

HNF, a leading community-based health organization is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant with an MPH concentration in Public Health, Global Health, Epidemiology or related fields. If you are passionate about data-driven research and making a meaningful impact on public health, we want to hear from you.

Role Summary:

As a Research Assistant at our organization, you will play a pivotal role in research projects involving primary data collection as well the analysis of data from secondary sources such as the Global Adult Tobacco Survey (GATS), Demography and Health Survey data (DHS), and other patient-oriented data collected in community centers and local hospitals. This position requires a research-focused individual with strong data management and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review, analyze, and develop reports for research projects based on secondary data.
  • Collaborate with clinicians and other researchers to collect patient-oriented and laboratory data.
  • Organize and manage research projects, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Conduct field visits to community centers, local hospitals, and other relevant sites.
  • Utilize data visualization tools like Power BI for effective data presentation.
  • Perform data cleaning, manipulation, and analysis using Excel and other data management tools.
  • Contribute to research publications and presentations.
  • Write grants for funding and promotes health related communication channels.

Requirements:

  • Master of Public Health (MPH) with a concentration in Epidemiology, data science or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in data analysis.
  • Proficiency in data management tools, including Power BI, Excel, and others.
  • Willingness to make field trips for data collection.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with research projects involving GATS and DHS data.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis software (e.g., R, SPSS, Stata).
  • A track record of contributing to research publications.
