NGO Federation of Nepal (NFN) is an umbrella organization or national platform of 6671 NGOs working in various fields of social welfare and development in Nepal. Established in 1991 for the promotion and protection of social justice, human rights, civic space and pro-poor development, NFN has evolved as a leading organization working for the entire NGO movement in Nepal. It is actively working to unite, organize, capacitate and mobilize civil society aiming to create a peaceful, democratic and just Nepal.
NFN has a Central Executive Committee, province committees in all the seven provinces, and district committees in all the 77 districts of Nepal. They functionalize and mobilize civil society, member NGOs and civil society organizations (CSOs). NFN has a catalytic role to support member organizations to enable them to contribute to sustainable development, good governance, human rights, democracy and socio-economic transformation. NFN’s central secretariat and resource centers support the executive committees at all levels to operationalize for the achievement of organizational objectives and mandates.
NFN leads the civil society movement and agenda, and also represents civil society in different institutional mechanisms and functions of the governments at all levels.
