Job Description

Ujyalo Foundation is a self-led feminist organization established in 2014, with a vision to create safe spaces for girls, women, and nonbinary individuals to learn and lead in Nepal. The organization is committed to advancing gender equality, inclusive leadership, and social justice through leadership development, research, advocacy, and community engagement.

Program Coordinator

Required No: 1

Duration: 2 years

A. Program Coordination & Implementation

  • Coordinate and implement Feminist Leadership Institutes 
  • Manage timelines, logistics, and program activities 
  • Liaise with facilitators and ensure smooth execution 

B. Session Planning & Learning Design

  • Support session design using feminist and rights-based approaches 
  • Work with facilitators to prepare materials and tools 
  • Ensure sessions are inclusive, participatory, and aligned with goals 

C. Fellow & Alumni Engagement

  • Act as the main point of contact for fellows 
  • Build relationships and support alumni networks 
  • Facilitate engagement activities and track fellow journeys 

D. Monitoring, Documentation & Learning

  • Track program progress and collect data 
  • Document stories, testimonials, and key learnings 
  • Support reflection and program improvement 

E. Writing & Reporting

  • Prepare reports, concept notes, and documentation outputs 
  • Ensure timely and high-quality reporting 

F. Coordination & Quality Assurance

  • Maintain program quality and organized records 
  • Coordinate with internal teams for smooth implementation 

G. Field Engagement & Travel

  • Travel within Nepal for program support and documentation 
  • Coordinate activities at community and provincial levels
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Gender Studies, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or related field
  • 3–5 years of experience in program coordination, preferably in leadership development or social justice programs 
  • Experience working with youth, feminist networks, or community-based initiatives
  • Strong facilitation and coordination skills 
  • Experience in documentation, storytelling, and report writing 
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines effectively
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills 
  • Sensitivity to working with diverse and marginalized communities 
  • Strong writing and documentation skills 
  • Alignment with feminist and intersectional values
Program, Research, and Knowledge Coordinator

Required No– 1

Duration: 1 year [Performance based extension]

A. Program Coordination (National & Regional)

  • Support planning and implementation of programs in Nepal and Asia 
  • Coordinate with teams, partners, and stakeholders 
  • Organize events, consultations, and convenings 
  • Track progress, learning, and outputs 
  • Travel within Nepal and occasionally regionally (Asia) 

B. Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Support engagement with partners, networks, and institutions 
  • Maintain relationships with local stakeholders 
  • Identify collaboration and partnership opportunities 

C. Research & Knowledge Production

  • Support qualitative and mixed-method research 
  • Conduct literature reviews and develop research tools 
  • Ensure ethical, feminist, and inclusive research practices 

D. Writing & Documentation

  • Produce reports, briefs, concept notes, and case studies 
  • Document program processes, learning, and outcomes 
  • Translate insights into clear and engaging content 

E. Research–Program Integration

  • Capture insights from programs and link them to research 
  • Connect national learning with regional work 
  • Support participatory documentation and identify key themes 

F. Advocacy & Communications Alignment

  • Align research outputs with advocacy goals 
  • Support blogs, articles, and knowledge products 
  • Contribute to organizational visibility
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Gender Studies, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or related field
  • 3–5 years of experience in program coordination, preferably in leadership development or social justice programs
  • Experience working with youth, feminist networks, or community-based initiatives
