In close partnership with the Government of Nepal (GoN), civil society, academia, and the private sector, FHI 360 Nepal delivers integrated programs across critical sectors. Our initiatives span essential health services—including HIV, maternal, newborn and child health (MNCH) and nutrition—procurement and supply chain management (PSM) for life-saving drugs, global health security (GHS)—including laboratory strengthening, antimicrobial resistance (AMR), disease surveillance, evidence-based public health messaging and community engagement, and health emergency management—and air quality management.

The U.S. government’s (USG) GHS program provides life-saving assistance to prevent, detect, and respond to infectious disease threats which pose risks for public health outbreaks that could cost lives. As part of the USG’s GHS program, the STRengthening Infectious disease DEtection Systems (STRIDES) Activity advances cross-sectoral efforts to successfully identify, manage, and respond to infectious disease threats; detect and prevent further outbreaks; and instill confidence and trust in a country’s disease detection and surveillance structures and services.

Position: Project Manager

Position Summary: The Project Manager, will provide overall management, operations and coordination support for the implementation of the STRIDES activity in the Nepal Reporting to the Project Director. The Project Manager will support day-to-day project operations and management to ensure that all activities are executed efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with donor and organizational requirements. The position will oversee subcontractor planning, budgeting, implementation while ensuring alignment with STRIDES’ objectives to strengthen infectious disease detection, surveillance, and response systems. The Project Manager will coordinate closely with technical teams, sub-award partners, and relevant government and stakeholder counterparts to ensure integrated, high-quality, and timely delivery of project outcomes. Key responsibilities of this position include supporting the implementation of work plans and deliverables, supporting risk and compliance management, monitoring progress against performance indicators, and facilitating effective communication among internal and external stakeholders. The Project Manager will also support adaptive management by promoting learning, documentation of best practices, and continuous improvement in program implementation and plays a central role in ensuring STRIDES contributes to advancing the country’s global health security agenda by strengthening systems to detect, prevent, and respond to infectious disease threats in a sustainable and coordinated manner.

Key Qualification and experience: Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Public Health, Epidemiology, Health Administration, Project Management, International Development, or a related field with eight years of relevant experience with projects management principles and practices with two years of line management experience required.
