Job Description

Rastriya Rojgar Prawardhan Kendra (RRPK) is an NGO dedicated to develop rural communities in Education, Health & Nutrition, Child Protection, Livelihood, Human Rights, Safer Migration, gender and empowerment, good governance, Disaster Risk Reduction and WASH in Nepal since 2004. It works with a mission to improve the lives of people through economic, social, cultural and physical transformation. It has been implementing Sponsorship Program in Sarlahi District in partnership with Save the Children.

Rastriya Rojgar Prawardhan Kendra invites applications from the interested and eligible candidates (Nepali citizen only) who are reliable, accountable, and have the ability to deliver results with the highest level of integrity for the following position under its Sponsorship program.

Position: Field Coordinator – Health -1 

  • Term: Fixed Term Contract
  • Location: Godaita and  Balara Municipality, Sarlahi

ROLE PURPOSE: 

The Field Coordinator will operate under the guidance of the Sr. Project Coordinator to ensure the effective implementation of project activities, adhering to established standards and strategies. This role demands extensive field travel to project sites and collaboration with stakeholders to promote sustainable child poverty interventions. A key focus will be ensuring the sustainability of the Samunnati program’s learning, health-related initiatives, and government partnership efforts.  

The position involves direct coordination with local governments, public agencies, and private organizations to integrate project objectives with the broader developmental landscape, ensuring long-term impact. The Field Coordinator is tasked with managing program planning, budgeting, implementation, monitoring, technical support, and reporting under the sponsorship program’s health theme.

Additionally, the role includes responsibilities for training, mentoring, and capacity building of project staff, conducting field-level assessments, and documenting success stories and lessons learned to support continuous improvement and stakeholder engagement.

The incumbent supervises and mentors Field Supervisors, facilitates research, documents lessons learned, and promotes best practices. The position is accountable for managing field-level education activities, ensuring quality implementation, and preparing comprehensive reports. This role allocates approximately 80% of time to field-level operations and coordination and 20% to reporting and higher-level collaboration.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

Program Planning and implementation

  • Lead the operational planning and budgeting for the health theme (MB and DIP).
  • Contextualize activities and plans in consultation with the Sr. Project Coordinator and Finance Unit to ensure effective implementation.
  • Prepare project partnership agreements, operational guidelines, consultant terms of reference (ToRs), and sustainability frameworks.
  • Support Field Supervisors in understanding activity budgets and managing expenditures.
  • Develop and implement monthly action plans and assist Field Supervisors in doing the same.
  •  Ensure timely procurement of materials and equipment for project activities.
  • Support to Sr. /Program Coordinator/Field Manager in planning, implementation, monitoring & and evaluation, reporting, and management of the overall project. 
  • Coordination for budget leverage with Local government for sustainability of project activities.
  • Supervise and provide regular support to the project staff in the implementation and management of project activities, trainings, and workshops at the field level. 
  • Build functional networking and professional relationships with the stakeholders including government, media, communities, civil society, and donor agencies to receive their support for collaboration and smooth implementation of the project activities.
  • Represent the project in meetings with government agencies, donors, and NGOs as well as in seminars and workshops as necessary.

Field monitoring, Coordination, and Reporting

  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor the project activities, guide & and assist sub-ordinates, and supervise the performances of staff.
  • Documents and compiles research, best practices, lessons learned, and success of the project.
  • Led and assist the Sr. Project Coordinator in the development of monitoring and evaluation tools.
  • Maintain regular contact with all the national, district, and Municipality level stakeholders in the district for better synergy in implementation.
  • Review and check data collected and submitted by Field Supervisor, ensure consistency and processing for further reporting.
  • Prepare thematic and assist the Sr. Project Coordinator in writing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports of the program.
  • Organize monthly monitoring with programmatic checklists and develop reports with well and measurable recommendations. 
  • Follow up and monitor the community-based monitoring register and support Sr. Project Coordinator for monthly updates in the Monitoring/Issue Logbook.

Others

  • Perform dual roles in development and humanitarian work during emergencies. 
  •  Undertake additional tasks as assigned by Line manager under the sponsorship program portfolio.    
  • Demonstrate and promote the “Do No Harm” policy in all activities.

QUALIFICATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Education: Bachelor’s degree in health or a related field 

Experience: At least 3 years of field experience in health program implementation.  

  • Expertise in MNH, School Health & Nutrition and Adolescent Sexual &Reproductive Health.
  • Familiarity with participatory community mobilization methods and child protection policies.  
  • Experience in building collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders.  

Skills:

  • Strong skills in log-framework plan development and outcome-based monitoring.
  • Proficiency in computing skills.  
  • Strong communication, analytical, and report-writing abilities.  
  • Basic proficiency in written and spoken English.  
  • Enthusiasm for working with diverse, multidisciplinary teams and rural communities.  
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate with relevant stakeholders.
