The University of Copenhagen’s International Summer Programme offers a number of popular summer courses within global health, which are open to both students and external applicants with an interest in global health issues. 

All summer courses in 2019 are open for application by January.

Courses offered by the School of Global Health

All courses are cross-disciplinary, in English and with both researchers and professionals lecturing.

Urbanisation and Health – global and local perspectives with Copenhagen as a case
Application deadline 1 April 2019
12 to 23 August 2019

Focused on global health challenges and solutions within urbanization and healthy living, working with a case in Copenhagen.

Arctic Health

  • Application deadline 1 April 2019
  • 12 to 23 August 2019 + e-learning component 15 July – 9 August
  • Focused on human health, health patterns, health systems, challenges and solutions to delivering of health care.

Global Health Challenges

  • Application deadline 1 April 2019
  • 5 to 16 August 2019 + e-learning component 29 July – 3 August
  • Focused on health policy and health consequences of the major current and future global challenges.

International Health

  • Application deadline 1 April 2019
  • 5 to 23 August 2019

Focused on health, diseases and medical interventions in developing countries. The course is especially suited for nursing and medical students who intend to work abroad. 

Field course in Sri Lanka on Cross-disciplinary Health Research

  • Application deadline 1 April 2019
  • 21 July to 9 August 2019 + online group work in June and July
  • Field course at two universities in Sri Lanka, focused on health research in low- and middle-income countries.
