Scholarships Orange Knowledge Programme Amsterdam, Netherlands: The Orange Knowledge Programme (OKP) is a 5-year programme that aims to advance the capacity, knowledge and quality of both individuals and institutions of higher and vocational education. Talented health professionals from 52 eligible OKP countries can apply for a full scholarship to study a Masters programme or advanced course at KIT.

List courses OKP application period winter 2019:
For the following programmes there are scholarships available from the Orange Knowledge Programme (OKP). 

  • Master of Public Health / International Course in Health Development
    Course dates: 16 September 2019 – 4 September 2020 
    This annual 12-month programme is organised by KIT Royal Tropical Institute and the VU Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.  Participants can choose from the following study tracks:

  • Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) in a dynamic health environment
    Course dates: 19 – 30 August 2019
    This course will provide participants with a deeper understanding of the role that M&E plays in all aspects of the health system, and with a broad range of tools and methods to be used in the health sector in developing countries. 
     
  • Analysing Disrupted Health Systems in Countries in Crisis
    Course dates: 19 – 30 August 2019
    This course focuses on the analysis of health systems in countries affected by, or recovering from, protracted crisis. It is organised jointly with the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Save the Children, and the World Health Organisation (WHO).
Application deadlines Orange Knowledge Programme Scholarship
  • Deadline KIT Royal Tropical Institute for academic admission (if applying for OKP): as soon as possible but at the latest by 25 February 2019
  • Registration period OKP: Exact date to be announced, but probably February-March 2019. Keep an eye on our website for updates.

Attention: the list of eligible countries for OKP is different from the list of former NFP countries. If you are a health professional from one of the  52 eligible OKP countries we strongly encourage you to apply for an OKP scholarship!

Upcoming Master program in 2019 

  • Master in International Health (MIH)
    Course dates: start dates 4 March 2019 or 9 September 2019. Fulltime or part-time option possible (1 up to 5 years)
    The aim of the MIH is to develop the capacity of health professionals working at the interface of international organisations and national health systems.
     
  • Netherlands Course in Global Health and Tropical Medicine (NTC) (core course MIH or stand-alone course,)
    Course dates: 4 March – 7 June 2019 or 9 September-13 December 2019 (given twice a year)
    This course provides essential preparation for health professionals such as medical doctors, nurses and midwives planning to work in low and middle income countries.
     
  • Core course Public Health
    Course dates: 23 September – 13 December 2019
    This 3 months course prepares health managers to use a public health approach to address the problems in their country, taking into account epidemiology, health system aspects and broader social determinants of health. 
  • NEW Part-time Master of Public Health 
    If you cannot leave your home/job for one year full-time it is now possible to follow the MPH programme in parts, studying it divided over 2-3 years.
