Monitoring and Evaluation Officer- HERD International

HERD International is a dynamic national organization, established to promote evidence informed policies and practices for sustainable development in health, environment and social sectors to improve quality of life. We work closely with various stakeholders at local, regional, national and international level. Our working modality functions adopting 3E approaches of EFFICIENCY, EXECUTION and EMPOWERMENT.

HERD International is conducting a survey “factors contributing to the stock out of essential medicines in government health facilities in Nepal”. In this regard, we are seeking consultants to be a member of this research team and support the planning and implementation of the research.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead on further advancement and institutionalization of a standard robust monitoring and evaluation system for all HERD International projects and programmes
  2. Development of periodical overall programmatic reports in line with the organisational policies and program specific requirements – this task to be performed in collaboration with other respective team members
  3. Act as a focal person for all M&E activities in HERD International
  4. Contribute to research and programme planning as an active member of the Research, Monitoring and Evaluation Unit
  5. Participate in regular meetings with M&E Manager/MD


Qualification, Experience and Competencies

  • A minimum of Masters degree in Public health/social sciences or related field with at least 2 years of experience or Bachelor degree in Public health/social sciences or related field with at least 3 years of experience of research and M&E, planning using log frame matrix, professional writing, and documentation, and liaison
  • Sound knowledge of the health systems in Nepal and elsewhere
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
  • Good interpersonal skills including good coordination with variety of stakeholders
  • Excellent planning and time management skills
  • Fluent spoken and written English essential
  • Confidentiality and professionalism in the execution of duties and responsibilities
