Job Title : Senior Officer – Health Systems
Department : Research and Innovation
Reporting to : Research Manager/Project Lead
Job status : Initially up to the end of March (possibility of extension up to 2 years)
Working hours : 40 hours per week
Job Assignment : Central Office, with frequent field visits
JOB PURPOSE:
The Senior Officer – Health Systems will work closely with the Research teams to support health systems project, policy analysis, and evidence synthesis focusing on Nepal’s health system. The role involves synthesizing evidence, conducting policy and context analyses, coordinating with stakeholders, and producing high-quality outputs to inform policy and practice. The officer will provide technical guidance to projects, facilitate multi-level stakeholder engagement, and ensure that health systems strengthening activities align with national priorities.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
These foundational qualifications and experiences ensure the Senior Officer – Health Systems can
effectively contribute to HERD International’s Research Team and its data-driven initiatives.
- Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Policy and Planning, Health Systems Management, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in health systems research, policy analysis and evidence synthesis.
- Comprehensive understanding of Nepal’s federal health governance structure and health system components across national, provincial, and local levels.
- Demonstrated expertise in analytical writing with a proven track record of producing policy briefs, technical reports and advocacy materials.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills, with experience of engaging with government officials and diverse stakeholders.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Nepali Language.
- Sensitivity to Gender and Cultural Considerations: Commitment to gender equality, diversity, and inclusion in policy and research practices.
