Job Title : Health System Strengthening Coordinator
Department : Research and Innovation
Reporting to : Research Manager/Project Lead
Job status : Initially up to the end of March (possibility of extension up to 2 years)
Working hours : 40 hours per week
Job Assignment : Provincial/Local Level (Selected Palikas in Lumbini and Madhesh)
No. of Vacancies : 4 positions

JOB PURPOSE:
The Health System Strengthening Coordinator will support health systems research, policy analysis, and evidence generation to strengthen Nepal’s health system. The role involves synthesizing evidence, conducting policy and context analyses, coordinating with stakeholders, and producing high-quality outputs to inform policy and practice. The Coordinator will provide technical guidance to projects, facilitate multi-level stakeholder engagement, and ensure that health systems strengthening activities align with national priorities.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
These foundational qualifications and experiences ensure the Health System Strengthening Coordinator can effectively contribute to HERD International’s Research Team and its data-driven initiatives.

  • Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Science or related discipline.
  • Minimum five years of progressive experience in health system strengthening, local health governance and related areas.
  • Strong understanding of local health system structures, functions, and challenges in the context of Nepal’s federalized health systems.
  • Proven ability in stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and participatory planning processes.
  • Excellent documentation and reporting skills in both English and Nepali.
  • Ability to work independently and travel frequently within the assigned province.
  • Sensitivity to Gender and Cultural Considerations: Commitment to gender equality, diversity, and inclusion in policy and research practices.
